Rooted in the Forest: A Visit to Đà Lạt Blue Mountain Farm post thumbnail

A few weeks back we ventured to DaLat with some cool friends – not that we would ever need an excuse to travel to such a beautiful part of Vietnam, but we have been wanting to visit this special place.

The journey up into the Central Highlands is an experience in itself. Leaving the lowlands behind, the road winds through lush valleys and climbs steadily into the misty, pine-covered hills of Đà Lạt, where the air turns crisp and the light softens through the trees. By the time the winding roads gave way to the quiet, rolling landscape of Đà Lạt Blue Mountain Farm (DBMF), it was impossible not to feel the raw, breathtaking beauty of the terrain.

At ByNature, our mission has always been about more than just filling shelves; it’s about knowing the people, the soil, and the care behind everything we bring into your home. When we made the trek out to DBMF, we saw firsthand what true regenerative farming looks like in practice.

Farming in Harmony with Nature

Tucked across 28 hectares of protected forest, DBMF feels like stepping into another world—one where farming works entirely with nature, not against it. There are no chemical shortcuts or synthetic sprays here. The soil is treated with deep reverence, nourished naturally under the dappled shade of the forest canopy.

The farm operates on closed-loop, regenerative principles, rebuilding soil organic matter, conserving water and letting crops thrive under the dappled light of natural forest canopies without chemical shortcuts or synthetic sprays.

Because we visited during the rainy season, we got to meet the most curious, sweetest goats settled in their rainy-season home: the charming red barn! The milk they give travels just 100 meters from the milking parlor straight to the cheese house to be crafted at peak freshness.

From just 30 goats in 2021 to around 70 today, their herd has grown organically. It takes around 8 to 10 liters of pure, fresh goat’s milk to craft just a single kilogram of their artisan cheese, and that incredible concentration of quality shines through in everything they make.

  • Fresh Goat’s Milk: Exceptionally pure, gentle on the stomach, and packed with clean nutrients.
  • Small-Batch Goat Cheese: Tangy, rich, and made by hand using traditional methods. It has that wonderful rustic flavor you can only get from happy, forest-grazed goats.
  • Handmade Caramels: Soft, chewy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious with a subtle, complex richness that only fresh goat’s milk can bring.
  • Velvety Caramel Sauce: Rich, golden, and dangerously good. I love it drizzled over pancakes or warm fruit, but honestly, it’s just as good straight off the spoon.
  • Cold-Processed Goat’s Milk Soap: Pure, creamy nourishment for sensitive skin, made with fresh milk and zero artificial junk.
